Continuation of a series of typographical experiments I made in design school. I'm intrigued by the idea of using the letterforms of exquisitely designed fonts to make mesmerizing abstract patterns and optical illusions. I'm looking at the characters and symbols for their aesthetic beauty alone and not for their meaning. None of these arrangements are meant to be readable. The point is the pattern itself, the visual composition, the sum of its parts. Look at the big picture and disregard the details. Let your eye be dazzled and stunned by the shapes and colors. I have the potential of a whole museum dedicated to this idea! I have almost 400 fonts installed on my mac, and I plan to make use of all the styles, because bold vs. italic often has very different characters within the same typeface. I also favor the lesser-known and seldom used dingbats and symbols of a font that are overlooked. Remember each of these typefaces was designed by someone who gave each letter shape as much careful thought and engineering as my compositions.
