VIII. Salvation

Part 8 of the Lost Innocence Saga illustrations. The title of this one is Salvation because it is. Redemption. Rescue.

The rose has now turned into a new gold rose with angel wings, and has become the angel's savior, come to rescue him from his torment. The symbol is a literal personification of the name "Seraphim Rose", which is the name of the angel who saves the fallen one. She first appears to him in this form, hovering above the flames as a shining beacon of hope. The angel is in hell, as we can see from the hands reaching up out of the flames. At the top there is a tiny speck of light, like the North Star. This could either be the tiny opening to the pit the angel fell into, or it could be God himself. I'm not sure.

This is another powerful symbol that I'd like to do a large scale oil canvas of someday.
